The wedding will reside during the last weekend of august 2025 in Languedoc-Roussillon, which is an historical region located in the southern part of France.
The hotel during the wedding weekend is a charming estate situated in the Languedoc region of France, specifically in the commune of Pézenas.
The ceremony will take place at the Abbaye de Valmagne, which is a historical Cistercian abbey located in the commune of Villeveyrac in the Hérault. It is an UNESCO world heritage site.
You will be in the heart of Languedoc, which makes this perfect for you to take some extra days off before or after the wedding to explore the area and the many pleasures it offers. The region is known for rich history and many historical sites, great wines, excellent salt production, oysters and wonderful foods, beaches and diverse landscapes.
During late august, which is a warm month in the region (25-35 degrees), we recommend you prepare for beach, historical sites, wine and gastronomic delights.
Pointer! Make plans and book restaurants and accommodation ahead of arriving and you will need to rent a car to get around.
Furthermore no children are allowed at the wedding since we want to enjoy this momentous occasion together with you without distractions! If you have very small children (0-6 month) please contact us and we will see what we can do.

Please note that this is a two day wedding the first day in a UNESCO site which is quite traditional and classy. The second day is more relaxed with opportunity for pool by an historical chateau. Please dress accordingly.

Why Abbaye de Valmagne?
Julia has always held a deep fascination for history and places that possess an air of enchantment. When we visited Abbaye de Valmange, both of us were captivated by the palpable sense of history and the grandeur that permeated the site.
We yearn to extend this enchantment and grandeur to you on one of the most significant evenings of our lives—when we unite as husband and wife.
When we started to look for a place to get married at we had a lot of discussions to where we would take the next steps of our lives. We weren´t always on the same page on this matter. However, when we went to visit this historical site, our breaths we taken away. We felt an sense that we had found the place that would represent us both.
The abbey thrived and expanded over the centuries, becoming an influential religious and cultural center in the region. Its architecture evolved through different periods, showcasing Romanesque, Gothic, and later architectural styles. The church and cloister, in particular, exhibit impressive architectural features and artistic details.
During the Middle Ages, Valmagne Abbey played a significant role in the agricultural development of the region, becoming a prosperous estate known for its vineyards and wine production. The monks cultivated grapes and produced wine, contributing to the abbey's economic strength.
However, like many religious institutions, Valmagne Abbey faced challenges during the tumultuous periods of history, including the Wars of Religion in the 16th century and the French Revolution in the late 18th century. The abbey was secularized and partially destroyed during the revolution, leading to the monks' departure.
In the 19th century, Valmagne Abbey underwent restoration and conservation efforts. It has since been recognized for its historical and architectural significance, attracting visitors interested in its heritage and cultural heritage.
Today, Valmagne Abbey stands as a well-preserved monument, welcoming visitors who are fascinated by its history, architecture, and the peaceful atmosphere of its surroundings. The abbey often hosts cultural events, exhibitions, and occasionally concerts, providing insight into its historical legacy and contributing to the region's cultural richness. Additionally, the estate continues to produce wine, and visitors can explore the vineyards and taste wines produced on-site.
Why Le Chateau de Roquelune?
For us, this chateau is charming castle which has been restored beautifully located near Pezénas. We fell in love with this place during summer of 2023. The owner has put a lot of work into restoring the castle into its former glory with their own spin. Every room is inspired of the surrounding area and historical sites.
Here the wedding party during day two will reside. That is at the 31th of august. The Sunday lunch with no end will be hosted at this Chateau.
The Sunday lunch with no end is more casual but still classy. For us this is an important day since we will be able to enjoy spending more quality time with you. Food and drinks will be provided by the newly married couple.
